I was thinking it might be a good idea too split the 200 player seige server into two 100 player servers. This is because of performance issues not creating a good general experience once the server reaches 150-200 players. My biggest issue is my ping, not the fps, but I think for other people with mid-range computers they might have issues with fps aswell as with ping.

I am using the TCPOptimizer, and I get a steady 60 fps at 200 players. When the server is down to 100-130, I don't experience the ping issue.

Something you can think about, if you havn't already.

The amount of players of these days will probably reduce in next weeks due to end of holidays. I remember the same thing in 2015, server didn't reach 150 players at max. It'll probably have around 130 players.

Also i'm not sure reducing player limit will solve the problem of ping. The other servers seem to suffer too when siege is full.

I had same idea, but I think isn't good split siege-gamers in two separate servers.

Also just now isn't easy do admin job for 1 server...  so having 2 servers only add more troubles to manage both properly: annoying, bad boys, bugs, etc. ...maintenance in general, and starts a new server in host only make it add more stress yet at whole work it has.

Mainly you will see that different maps (with same numbers of players online) have different "feeling" about lag and so,

then think it is because maps, not players...  some maps are well modded and others not both.

Maps can only impact on fps. Of course low fps looks like a lag, but it isn't a connection lag.

Every 50 players your Ping rises ~10, as on empty server I play with 9-19 and full 49-59, this 50-60 ping difference isn't that much. And I must admit I have ~700 fps drop from when server is 200 compared to 0, and after 180 players it is very annoying.

1 thing; At PW (a mod Persistent Worlds) they managed to do something that the server doesn't run on 1 core anymore and some stuff with WSE that increases performance and that is why they have 250 slot server. I'm not sure if this is possible with native too. I will search and quote the server owner.

I think the server should remain at 200 capacity, I think the large scale battles are one of its biggest appeals.

When the server is full I am still lucky enough to have a <100 ping and I cant say I notice capacity having an effect on my fps.

How a server where players role play and go around doing nothing special can lag ? Our server has to handle a lot of players killing each other in few seconds with all the siege weapons. The amount of traffic and cpu overload is totally different.

Heheheeheh, then you have never seen the wars there xd, it is organised with 100 vs 100. The rp is a bit lost nowadays.
